Amaravati, November 17, 2025: South Korean footwear maker Hwaseung, a key Adidas supplier, has selected Kuppam in Andhra Pradesh for its debut Indian manufacturing unit, investing $150 million over three phases to produce 20 million pairs of non-leather shoes annually.

The 100-acre site, spanning two villages, will prioritise exports before tapping domestic demand, drawing on the state's skilled labour and land incentives after evaluating options in Tamil Nadu.

Hwaseung's CEO for the shoe division highlighted India's vast youth workforce and engineering talent as deciding factors, with Invest India guiding site selection. The labour-heavy facility, despite automation, promises 20,000 jobs, boosting Kuppam's rural economy.
