Andhra Pradesh's Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Partnership Summit, held in Visakhapatnam on November 14-15, 2025, marked a historic milestone, securing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for projects worth ₹13,25,716 crore unprecedented in the state's development journey.
Volt Sun Labs, a new arm of the esteemed ₹90,000 crore RJ Corp Group chaired by Ravi Jaipuria a business magnate with a stellar global reputation, is at the center of the smears. RJ Corp is a diversified conglomerate excelling in food processing, education, healthcare, hospitality, real estate, and quick-service restaurants (QSRs).
It partners with PepsiCo for bottling operations and franchises major brands like KFC, Pizza Hut, and Costa Coffee. Listed entities under the group, such as Varun Beverages Limited and Devyani International Limited, operate not just in India but in markets including Dubai, Thailand, and Morocco.
In a strategic pivot to renewables, Volt Sun Labs is establishing a greenfield solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Nayudupeta, Tirupati district, with a ₹1,743 crore investment under the Mega Project Scheme (MPS E C).
Government Order (G.O.) Ms. No. 222, issued on November 15, 2025, allocates 37 acres for the project. It will develop a 2 GW integrated solar ecosystem in two phases, leveraging advanced TOPCON monocrystalline bifacial technology for 1 GW cell and 1 GW module capacity each.
The initiative is projected to generate 415 direct jobs, supported by state-provided infrastructure including 40 MW electricity, 3 MLD water, and a captive solar plant.
Such baseless attacks on transformative investments especially amid India's push for renewable energy self-reliance, are not only misleading but criminal in intent, eroding public confidence and economic momentum.
The Andhra Pradesh government condemns this propaganda and urges citizens to exercise vigilance: Verify claims against official sources like G.O.s and company disclosures, and reject rumors that hinder progress.
