Newsroom, November 15, 2025: A devastating blast at Srinagar's Nowgam police station on Friday morning killed six people, four police personnel and two civilians, while injuring seven others during the handling of explosive materials seized earlier from Faridabad.
The incident, which occurred around 10:30 a.m. in a secure facility, involved a suspected detonation of RDX-based samples linked to a terror module, shattering windows and causing structural damage. Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief R.R. Swain confirmed the casualties, including a head constable and constables, and vowed a thorough investigation to trace the chain from the Delhi-NCR bust.
The station, a key counter-terror hub, had the samples under forensic scrutiny when the mishap unfolded, prompting an immediate lockdown and NIA involvement. No group has claimed responsibility, but officials suspect links to recent cross-border threats.
