Newsroom, November 14, 2025: Congress candidate V. Naveen Yadav triumphed in the Jubilee Hills assembly by-poll, capturing 98,988 votes or 50.83% to oust BRS's Maganti Sunitha by 24,729 votes, the largest margin in the constituency's history, while BJP's Lankala Deepak Reddy finished third with 8.76%. The seat fell vacant after BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath's death, with polling at 48.49% among 4,01,365 voters; NOTA garnered 924.

Yadav hailed the result as a "voters' slap to smear campaigns," vowing to tackle local woes like traffic and development. Congress MLAs burst crackers at Gandhi Bhavan, with Minister Ponnam Prabhakar crediting the win to debunked opposition rumours against the government.

The victory marks Congress's second by-election success since 2023, lifting its tally to 66 in Greater Hyderabad, where it drew zero seats last time and boosting morale before the GHMC polls. For BRS, the loss despite fielding Gopinath's widow quells sympathy hopes, deepening post-2023 setbacks in the Lok Sabha and assembly.
