Newsroom, November 13, 2025: Kolkata Knight Riders announced the addition of ex-Australian all-rounder Shane Watson to their coaching team for the 2026 Indian Premier League season, tapping his vast expertise from 12 IPL years, where he scored four centuries and contributed to winning squads with Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings.

Watson, who represented Australia in 59 Tests, 190 ODIs, and 58 T20Is, amassing over 10,000 runs and 280 wickets, also played key roles in the 2007 and 2015 World Cup victories. He expressed enthusiasm: "I am eager to work closely with the coaching group and players to help bring another title to Kolkata."

KKR CEO Venky Mysore welcomed the move: "We are thrilled to welcome Shane Watson to the KKR family. His experience as a player and coach at the highest level will add immense value to our team culture and preparation."
