Newsroom, November 09, 2025: Emraan Hashmi's latest release Haq, a courtroom drama drawing from the Shah Bano case and co-starring Yami Gautam, has flopped despite solid reviews, pulling in just Rs 9-10 crore over its opening weekend after a modest Rs 1.75 crore debut on November 7.

Directed by Suparn Verma for Junglee Pictures, the film highlights social justice themes but couldn't break through commercially, adding to Hashmi's prolonged slump.

The actor's fortunes have waned since The Dirty Picture's 2011 success, with nearly 19 films including Azhar, Selfiee, and Chehre failing to draw crowds, largely due to mismatched story choices and fading appeal of his thriller-romance niche.
