Newsroom, November 13, 2025: The investigation into the November 10 car explosion near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station has uncovered a plot by eight individuals, including two doctors entangled in a financial dispute, to launch simultaneous attacks in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) pieced together evidence from digital trails and interrogations, showing the group sourced explosives and scouted sites for maximum disruption, motivated by the rift over unpaid dues tied to medical equipment deals. The blast, which killed 13, served as a test run, with plans for vehicle-borne IEDs in crowded markets.
The module's leader, a former Jaish-e-Mohammed operative, recruited the doctors for logistics, using their networks to procure chemicals. Five arrests followed raids in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, with three fugitives at large.
