Newsroom, November 10, 2025: BRS leader K. T. Rama Rao faced backlash for a tweet praising a comedy show hours after Chandrababu Naidu's September 9, 2023, arrest, with critics viewing it as a taunt amid the TDP chief's custody in a skill development case.
The post, shared the next day, celebrated Varun Grover's performance, but KTR later claimed ignorance, stating in an interview, "I was with my family at the show without even taking my security hours after the arrest. I was unaware of the incident and tweeted about the show by coincidence."
The timing, however, fueled perceptions of glee, deepening the rift between BRS and TDP over past disputes like separate statehood and cash-for-votes. KTR's efforts to the TDP voters ahead of the 2023 elections and Jubilee Hills by-poll, emphasising no intent to offend, ring hollow to detractors.
