Newsroom, November 10, 2025: The Jubilee Hills assembly by-election in Hyderabad has turned into a battleground where the arrest of actor Allu Arjun after the Sandhya Theatre stampede during Pushpa 2's release has become a central flashpoint between the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Congress.

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, in a roadshow, accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of targeting film personalities when no elections loom, but softening when votes are at stake. "Revanth Reddy will jail film celebrities if there is no election. But during elections, he will not hesitate to touch their feet," KTR quipped, highlighting the perceived selective enforcement.

The controversy intensified as several Telugu film stars extended public birthday wishes to Revanth Reddy on social media, prompting whispers of coordinated efforts to sway the actor's massive fanbase.

Congress, leveraging incumbency, counters with welfare promises, while BRS banks on anti-incumbency and sympathy from the theatre incident. A win here could signal momentum for BRS ahead of the 2028 state polls.
