Newsroom, November 10, 2025: A peaceful gathering at India Gate on Sunday turned tense when about 100 parents, children, and activists blocked Man Singh Road, prompting Delhi police to detain them for obstructing traffic.

The event, aimed at demanding an independent pollution watchdog, real-time air data, and accountability for cleanup funds, featured women carrying nebulisers and prescriptions to highlight health threats under Article 21's right to life.

Environmental activist Bhavreen Kandhari noted the irony: "Many female officers understood our plight, breathing the same foul air, yet masks were scarce among the crowd, that's the tragedy."

Police had urged the group to relocate to Jantar Mantar, the approved protest venue, but after repeated refusals, they cleared the road and released the detainees soon after.
