Newsroom, November 10, 2025: Delhi's post-Diwali haze has turned air purifiers into grim reminders of pollution's grip, with locals sharing photos of filters encrusted in thick, dark grime after just a day of use, as the city's AQI climbed to 380 severe in hotspots like Anand Vihar and Dwarka.

Priya Sharma, a 35-year-old mother in East Delhi, said her unit, meant to last a month, now needs to be replaced every 24 hours, costing families extra amid breathing woes and eye irritation.

Dr. S.C. Gupta, a pulmonologist, warned that such particles lodge deep in lungs, spiking asthma and heart risks by 30% in high-exposure zones.

The smog, from stubble burning and leftover crackers, slashed visibility to 200 meters, prompting school closures and GRAP-II curbs.
