Newsroom, November 10, 2025: Delhi's air quality index climbed to 380 on Friday, edging into severe territory in areas like Anand Vihar and Dwarka, marking the season's second-hardest day after last week's 398 peak.

Stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana, combined with Diwali firecracker residue and vehicle fumes, thickened the smog layer, slashing visibility to under 500 meters and triggering health alerts for vulnerable groups. Hospitals reported a 25% uptick in breathing complaints, while schools urged indoor activities.

The Centre activated GRAP Stage II measures, banning coal and diesel generators, but experts call for stubble curbs and EV incentives to avert winter peaks.
