Newsroom, November 02, 2025: The Indian Space Research Organisation is poised to launch its heaviest-ever communication satellite, CMS-03, at 5:26 PM from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, marking a key step in expanding maritime connectivity.

The 4,410 kg multi-band satellite will support wide oceanic coverage around the Indian subcontinent, strengthening naval, air, and sea operations, particularly for warships, aircraft, and remote assets.

The mission relies on the LVM3-M5 rocket, dubbed "Bahubali" for its power, standing 43.5 meters tall with solid strap-ons for thrust, a liquid core stage, and a cryogenic upper section using homegrown technology. Capable of handling 4,000 kg to geosynchronous transfer orbit and up to 8,000 kg to low Earth orbit, it boasts a flawless history, including the 2023 Chandrayaan-3 success.
