Newsroom, November 02, 2025: A group of Congress party workers allegedly stormed the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) office in Manuguru, Khammam district, on Tuesday evening, damaging property and setting furniture ablaze in a heated confrontation that injured two BRS members.
The incident, sparked during a local meeting over development disputes, saw the attackers break windows, smash chairs, and flee after igniting cushions, forcing police to douse the flames. No fatalities occurred, but the office sustained heavy smoke damage.
Local BRS leaders accused the rivals of orchestrating a premeditated assault to intimidate ahead of upcoming elections, demanding swift justice. Congress officials distanced themselves, calling it a spontaneous clash between individuals.
Police detained five suspects and filed charges under sections for rioting and arson, vowing to maintain order in the tense area.
