Amaravati, November 1, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed sorrow, announcing Rs 2 lakh from the PMNRF for each bereaved family and Rs 50,000 for the injured.

A horrific crowd surge occurred at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Kasibugga, Srikakulam district, commonly dubbed a "mini Tirupati" and opened four months ago on 12 acres of land owned by Hari Mukunda Pandasaw. Thousands flock for blessings, overwhelming a site meant for just 2,000 to 3,000 people.

This turned a sacred Ekadashi gathering into tragedy on Saturday, killing 10 devotees, mostly women and children, and injuring more than 30 others.
