Amaravati, June 21, 2025: Visakhapatnam’s Yogandhra 2025 event, held on the 11th International Yoga Day, etched its name in history by setting a Guinness World Record with 3.01 lakh people performing yoga simultaneously along a 26-km stretch from RK Beach to Bhogapuram. The vibrant event, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, surpassed the 2023 record set in Surat, Gujarat, where 1.47 lakh participants gathered for a yoga session. The month-long Yogandhra campaign, which mobilized 2.17 crore participants statewide, culminated in this record-breaking spectacle. Organized across 326 designated compartments with synchronized asanas, the event showcased yoga’s universal appeal, drawing tribal communities, students, professionals, and seniors. Guinness representatives presented certificates to state ministers Nara Lokesh and Satya Kumar, affirming the achievement. Naidu reiterated the state’s commitment to promoting yoga as a lifestyle, calling the event a milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s wellness journey.
