Amaravati, June 21, 2025: At the 11th International Yoga Day event in Visakhapatnam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful address, emphasizing yoga’s role as a global force for peace and unity. Speaking at the Yogandhra 2025 event along RK Beach, Modi highlighted how yoga, an ancient Indian practice, has transcended borders, uniting 175 nations since its UN recognition in 2014. “Yoga is the pause button humanity needs amid global unrest,” he said, advocating for “Yoga for Humanity 2.0” to promote collaboration over conflict. Modi praised the Andhra Pradesh government’s Yogandhra campaign, noting its success in mobilizing over 2.39 crore participants. He lauded AIIMS Delhi’s yoga-based therapies and digital platforms for expanding yoga’s reach. Urging daily practice, Modi emphasized yoga’s benefits for physical, mental, and spiritual health, aligning with the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” He also encouraged reducing oil intake by 10% for a balanced lifestyle.
